New York OK's Diesel Gen-Set Emergency Back-up Power With ULSD
Diesel Fuel News, May 28, 2001
Ultralow-sulfur diesel (ULSD) gets another boost as New York State Dept. of Environmental Conservation (DEC) gave the OK for building owners to use emergency diesel gen-sets to avoid power blackouts this summer. "Generators would be required to use ultra low-sulfur fuel...and would be capped at a maximum of 200 hours of annual operation," DEC says.
Praising the move was Diesel Technology Forum (DTF), saying that "decisions with balance and vision will help avoid the terrible power problems facing California and the Pacific Northwest."
