Lebanon Delays Mandatory Taxi Switch From Diesel to Gasoline

Smoke-belching, old-technology diesel taxis prompted a Lebanese Cabinet decision to ban use of diesel fuel in June. But the abrupt move caused the Land Transport & taxi Driver Unions to appeal. Taxi drivers subsequently won a 2-1/2 year derogation to make the mandatory switch to gasoline, according to The Daily Star (Beirut).
