Truckers rip CARB diesel 'double-cross'

Diesel Fuel News, July 21, 2003

California Trucking Association (CTA) members circled the state capitol last week, protesting CARB's proposal to continue with unique limits on aromatics and cetane even when national ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD) standards take effect in 2006. Continuation of CARB-specification ULSD will "keep California truckers on a fuel island and at the mercy of the few refiners who will manufacture this boutique fuel," CTA said.

Trucks from Mexico and from out-of-state buy cheaper, non-CARB fuel, so they're stealing freight business from California truckers, CTA complains.
