Oman Refinery switching to ULSD production
Diesel Fuel News, July 8, 2002
Korea's SK Engineering-Construction (SKEC) confirmed to us that it has signed a $32-million diesel hydrodesulfurization project at Oman Refinery Co. The plant is scheduled to be mechanically complete by December 2003, a SK source told us. According to a separate report from Times of Oman, the plant would come on-line by the first quarter of 2004.
Our SK source says the 85,000 barrels/day Mina Al Fahl refinery will as a result be able to produce 18,000 b/d of diesel with less than 50-ppm sulfur.
