DDC announces EPA-compliant clean-diesel bus engines for October 2002

Diesel Fuel News, August 5, 2002

Detroit Diesel (DDC), one of the "consent decree" engine makers that must accelerate compliance with U.S EPA emissions limits of 2.5 g/bhp-hr NOx HC by October, announced a new Series 50 engine with cooled EGR and (where required) a diesel particle filter (DPF) that runs on ultra-low sulfur diesel.

Fifteen of these new clean-diesel engines have already been tested in revenue service in New York, Las Vegas and New Orleans, and more are going to Ann Arbor Transit (see related story, p l2).
