U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Supports Engine Makers, Refiners in U.S. Supreme Court Appeal on SCAQMD Fleet Rules: South Coast Air Quality Management District (metro Los Angeles) rules that ban the purchase of new diesel fleet vehicles violate federal Clean Air Act pre-emption of local emissions standards, DOJ says in a friend-of-court brief, AP wire service reported.
