Ethanol-diesel legislation dies in Brazil

Diesel Fuel News, Sept 2, 2003

Ethanol-Diesel Legislation Dies in Brazil: According to a report from Gas Energia, a bill in Brazil's chamber of deputies would have forced 15% ethanol blend in diesel. But the bill died following objections from Brazil's National Cargo Transport Association, which pointed to severe damage to rotary-type fuel pumps from "e-diesel" use.

Brazil's relatively old diesel truck fleet includes a large portion of engines equipped with such pumps, the report said.
