New York Coalition Announces $5 Million Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Grant For Cleaner Diesel Ferries: Since the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York two years ago, passenger water ferry serviced has doubled, boosting nitrogen oxides (NOx) and particulate (PM) emissions. So, New York state agencies, FTA, U.S.
EPA and Environmental Defense formed a coalition to install and test diesel emissions clean-up technologies, including ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD).
