Johnson-Matthey Touts Better Low-Temperature "CRT 2" PM Filter System

Diesel Fuel News, Sept 17, 2001

The new, second-generation "CRT-2" soot filter allows faster soot reduction at lower exhaust temperatures, compared to JM's first-generation "CRT," the company said here. Details on how the new system works weren't revealed, however. Meantime, JM also touted a combination low-pressure EGR CRT system for both OEM and retrofit applications for trucks, buses and off-road machinery.

Besides [greater than]90% cuts in PM, HC and CO, the system cuts NOx by more than 40%. The system requires ULSD for proper operation.
