PM Trap, ULSD Beats Ambient Air
Diesel Fuel News, Sept 17, 2001
> "It's possible to produce fewer PM than ambient air with a 3 ppm sulfur fuel, along with zero-sulfur lube oil, as Oak Ridge National Lab found in transient tests" earlier this year, U.S. Department of Energy clean-diesel program manager John Fairbanks revealed at DEER. NOx traps also can produce ultra-low emissions, but sulfur sensitivity is so keen that NOx traps "probably will need a sulfur trap," he predicted.
