'Plasmatron' reformers must improve before commercialization possible. Workshop Highlights

Diesel Fuel News, Sept 16, 2002

> A wine-bottle-sized "plasmatron" can reform diesel fuel to hydrogen to boost exhaust catalyst efficiency, and it offers faster start-up than convertional hydrogen reformers for heavier fuels such as diesel, tech developer Lesley Bromberg showed here. But the system still needs improvements, including faster response time at start-up, soot-free operation over wide conditions, higher diesel fuel throughput, and reduced electric power consumption, he said.
