BP Inks Diesel-water Emulsion deal with Lubrizol

Diesel Fuel News, Jan 7, 2002

BP announced a deal to use Lubrizol's "PuriNOx" diesel-water emulsion technology for a new product called "Aspira."

The deal is described as a "key part of the BP System City low emissions initiative," but BP officials in London weren't available to elaborate when we called during the Christmas/New Year's holidays last week.

BP's first customer is transport bus operator Arriva, based in London, but many other fleets -- both on- and off-road -- will be offered the fuel.

Among potential customers are delivery vehicles, transit and school buses, trash trucks, farm vehicles, mining/construction equipment, coastal marine ships and power generators, Lubrizol and BP said.
