Saudi Aramco eyeing ULSD plan, but date uncertain

Diesel Fuel News, Oct 27, 2003

Aramco aims to bring diesel sulfur levels down to 50-ppm, initially in Riyad, Jiddah and Makkah, then eventually switch to ULSD nationwide. But refinery investment deadlines aren't certain, as explained to a recent International Fuel Quality Center (a Hart Downstream Energy Group) briefing in Bahrain.

By 2006, Aramco plans to convert to 500-ppm sulfur diesel, initially in the three big cities, but then nationwide by at least 2010.
