Pittsburgh, Pa. Port authority aims to scrap CNG, buy diesel-electric hybrids instead

The Port Authority aims to ask for grants for some $2.5 million for purchasing up to six diesel-electric hybrid buses, rather than spending any more money on compressed natural gas (CNG). A CNG station earlier built to refuel the five CNG buses left in the fleet will stay open as long as buses (most now coming to end of their normal useful life) remain useable.
