Many refiners likely to produce one ultra-low sulfur Jet-Kero grade
Diesel Fuel News, Oct 27, 2003
> "If refiners choose to produce one grade of kerosene as is customary today, [then] the result may be ultra-low-sulfur jet fuel," ConocoPhillips tells EPA in comments on non-road diesel rule proposal. "ConocoPhillips asks EPA to work with the FAA [Federal Aviation Administration] and others to assure that widespread use of ultra-low sulfur kerosene in jet aircraft does not have any adverse consequences." What's more, EPA's "baseline" scheme for producing 15-ppm kero would unnecessarily constrain refiners to meet a 20% limit on highway 500-ppm fuel.
