GM, Engelhard, ExxonMobil, Accelrys, DOE Launch $18 Million Joint R&D on Better Materials For NOx Catalyst

Diesel Fuel News, Oct 15, 2001

> Super-rapid, computerized combinatorial chemistry tapping "informatics" technology from Accelrys will allow the R&D partners to sift through many possible combinations of catalyst structures and materials in order to speed R&D on a better diesel NOx reduction catalyst. Conventional catalyst R&D might investigate 100-200 materials per year, but the new technology allows 100-200 tests per week, GM told us.
