Lubrizol confirms official EPA health-effects OK for diesel-water emulsion

Diesel Fuel News, Oct 28, 2002

The "PuriNOx" warm-weather diesel emulsion blend just got official EPA registration, following two years of mandatory health effects testing. A winterized blend containing some methanol still must go through further tests prior to official EPA approval, however (see Diesel Fuel News 5/27/02, p1).

The warm-weather version now can be marketed without restriction throughout the U.S. - especially in California and Texas, where emulsions are in greatest demand for nitrogen oxides (NOx) cuts for EPA ozone reduction deadlines.
