Thielert confirms U.S. Federal Aviation Administration type certification for diesel aircraft engine

Thielert Confirms U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Type Certification For Diesel Aircraft Engine: This "opens the way for aircraft manufacturers to integrate the [135-horsepower] Centurion 1.7 engine in FAA-certified airplanes," Thielert spokesman Sebastian Wentzler told us last week. The aim is to warrant the engine for 2,400 operating hours, running on regular Jet-A fuel.
