California Air Resources Board rule mandates diesel bus idling reduction

Diesel Fuel News, Dec 23, 2002

> California Air Resources Board just passed a regulation to restrict diesel school-bus idling anywhere around schools and kids. Many other U.S. states have imposed similar restrictions, in part due to encouragement and pressure from U.S. EPA. Kids are thought to be more susceptible than adults to health effects from diesel exhaust emissions, especially when they're standing near buses during extensive idling periods.
