Fatty-acid biodiesel seeks taxpayer subsidy

Diesel Fuel News, Feb 3, 2003

U.S. Sen. Mark Dayton (D-Minn.) introduced a soy-diesel tax credit of 3 c/gallon for 2% biodiesel blends (or $1.50/gallon subsidy for the biodiesel portion), and a 20 c/gallon break for 20% biodiesel blends (or a $1/gallon subsidy on the biodiesel portion). A similar measure was included in the U.S.

Senate energy bill last year, which failed to pass a U.S. House-Senate energy bill conference committee. Federal fleets would be forced to use 2% blends by 2007, and 20% blends by 2012.
