New health effects institute-sponsored studies on diesel exhaust should have results by 2004-2005

One new study will look at the impact of diesel exhaust on asthmatic children, while another will look at whether diesel PM exacerbates allergic responses. A third study will examine antigen-induced allergies provoked in test rats at a site with heavy diesel traffic, while a fourth study will look for "bio-markers" of diesel PM exposure.
