Metro Los Angeles to devote 70% of Air Quality fines for 'clean' school buses

Diesel Fuel News, Feb 17, 2003

> South Coast Air Quality Management announced that most of its air pollution penalty revenues in 2003 will go for its "clean school bus program," mostly for compressed natural gas (CNG) but also some clean-diesel. "In the case of major penalty settlements greater than $200,000, 70% of the penalty will go toward the purchase of clean school buses or retrofit control devices at a school district near or downwind of the facility paying the penalty," SCAQMD said.
