U.S. Dept. of Energy (DOE) Would Consider Marine Clean-Diesel R&D Collaboration with U.S. Dept. of Transportation: No actual proposal is on the table yet, but DOE assistant secretary David Garman told the U.S. Maritime Administration (MARAD) international conference on marine emissions last month that DOE would consider joint clean-marine diesel R&D with DOT and industry.

Working with engine companies and vehicle makers, DOE already has years of clean-diesel R&D experience, some of which might be transferable to maritime applications.
