Oxi-cats improve emissions reduction when combined with diesel-water emulsions

While diesel fuel emulsions are effective in reducing PM and NOx, the hydrocarbons and carbonyls can increase in certain speed/load ranges, Michigan Tech researchers found (SAE 2002-01-1277, 1278). So, adding an oxi-cat successfully reduces the HCs and carbonyls, and further reduces PM.
