Alameda Power Rents Diesel Gen-Sets

California's energy crisis means this Contra Costa County public utility will rent four diesel gen-sets this summer, producing 6 Mw, at about $100,000/month, for 10% of the city's power. That's peanuts compared to the business cost of blackouts, the Alamedo Journal reported, citing utility official studies.
