Microsoft Corp has introduced thirteen new international versions of its Windows Media Player 7 Media Guide, a feature that offers direct access from the player to audio and video from content providers.

Three of the versions - for Brazil, Japan and Latin America - are available immediately while the remaining ten - for Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Korea, Singapore, Spain, Taiwan and the UK - will be launched by the end of May. Windows Media Player 7 is available for download as a beta at http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmedia/.> In related news edel music, a European independent record label, has selected the Windows Media digital media platform as a preferred format for secure downloads and audio and video streaming.
