Hewlett-Packard Co (HP) has unveiled what it claims to be the first commercially available, massively scalable visualisation architecture.
The new architecture, which exploits advances in processor and graphics technology, is designed to support customers' needs for interactive visualisation of large, complex data sets in a variety of applications, including industrial styling, virtual product design, and defence simulation.

At the same time HP has introduced the first product based on the architecture. Called HP visualization center sv6, the system allows the manipulation of digital objects as if they were malleable clay. According to HP this ability will help companies in industries such as automotive, aerospace and heavy equipment manufacturing to lower the costs by enabling engineers to resolve design and manufacturability issues earlier in the product development cycle.
HP visualization center sv6 is available now, with pricing for an entry-level system beginning at USD170,000.
