Audio, video, communications and IT product manufacturer Sony Europe has introduced its new USB Storage Media Micro Vault.

The Micro Vault utilises IC storage media technology and has 128MB of data storage capacity with a 1.5MB/s data transfer rate. The dimensions of the device are, according to Sony, about the same as a marker pen.

Micro Vault does not require any software drivers when used with Windows 2000/ME/XP or Mac OS 9.0 and higher. Also, it connects to a PC through a standard USB port.

In total, four different storage capacities will be available - 16MB, 32MB, 64MB and 128MB. All models will be available in January 2002.
