Virage Inc, a provider of video content management and publishing solutions, has released the latest version of its Video Application Server platform.

Video Application Server 3.0 allows customers to deploy and centrally manage a wider variety of automated streaming video applications.

The new version of the server software includes user management and authentication features, allowing systems administrators to manage individuals and groups with varying privileges. It also provides permission-driven folders that enable users to securely create, store, manage and selectively share collections of video clips.

The software also supports Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP), enabling easy integration with existing IT infrastructure according to Virage.

Pricing details were not revealed.
