The US e-business software developer Computer Associates International Inc (CA) has obtained a patent for the technical capabilities featured in its ARCserve data protection system for e-business enterprise data assets.
The patented technology automatically tracks data backup processes while at the same time utilising and managing media pools to manage storage media. In addition it enables the ARCserve system to share media between heterogeneous systems without compromising data integrity.
