The US publishing software developer Quark Inc has launched QuarkWrapture v1.5, a major upgrade of its package conceptualisation software tool.
Fusing a CAD structure to a graphic design, QuarkWrapture creates a 3D rendering of a package in a single file that can be shared electronically. The latest version is targeted at a larger segment of the packaging industry by allowing users to conceptualise designs for cylindrical objects, such as bottles and cans. Another new feature lets users render multiple pieces as a single scene and select and reposition each piece individually.

Other enhancements include increased export options and an ability to specify package attributes such as finish, texture and thickness and to change such rendering attributes as lighting intensity and camera focal length.
QuarkWrapture 1.5 is available for both Mac OS and Windows. Pricing was not disclosed.
