US-based SSA Global Technologies has introduced version 8 of Business Planning and Control System (BPCS), its flagship enterprise resource planning (ERP) product for the industrial sector.

The latest version offers several new vertical industry products, such as eRecords and Trade Funds Management, which is used to plan, control and track spending related to marketing products. Functional enhancements include the use of a Lean Manufacturing Process to enable high-speed delivery of products by eliminating wasteful activities.

In addition version 8 provides time saving features such as direct generation of double-byte enabled programs and generation of all BPCS' programs as ILE RPG objects. Availability and pricing were not disclosed.
