Worldwide Computer Products News-1 May 2001-Easynet introduces managed security system (C)1995-2001 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

The pan-European Internet service provider Easynet has launched a new fully managed security package called EasySecure.

Based on firewall and virtual private network (VPN) hardware from WatchGuard Technologies, the new offering is designed to guard customers' networks against security breaches from 'hackers' or unauthorised personnel.

The package contains two systems - EasySecure LAN and EasySecure VPN. EasySecure LAN provides security to leased line and facility managed web server hosting customers with a single network while EasySecure VPN can be used to secure companies with multiple offices and networks.

Both systems encrypt all data before it leaves the protected network to ensure communications security. Other features include an initial on-site security audit before the system is set up and the provision of reports that analyse the security of the network.

Availability and pricing were not revealed.
