Rational Software Corp has introduced Rational Test RealTime, its new product designed to automate the testing of embedded, real-time and distributed applications.
The system, which is based on technology acquired by Rational as the result of its recent purchase of the French company ATTOL Testware, can be used to manage the error-prone and tedious aspects of implementing, deploying and running an embedded test environment.

The company has also introduced the Rational QualityArchitect for RealTime system, which comes integrated with Rational Test RealTime to add test automation capabilities to Rational's Rose RealTime design automation tool.
Rational Test RealTime is available immediately and costs USD5,495 per node-locked licence and USD9,625 per floating licence. Rational QualityArchitect for RealTime is delivered as part of Rational Rose RealTime Professional.
