Worldwide Computer Products News-30 May 2001-Adobe releases Acrobat Reader version for Palm devices (C)1995-2001 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

California-based Adobe Systems Inc has made available Acrobat Reader for Palm OS, its new software that allows content to be viewed in the company's Portable Document Format (PDF) on Palm-powered handheld devices.

The new software is designed to extend the features of Adobe's new Acrobat 5.0 software and Adobe PDF beyond desktop computers to handhelds. According to the company PDF documents created using Acrobat 5.0 will offer a better reading experience on Palm-powered devices than files created using earlier Acrobat versions because they are now automatically tagged with information on the document structure and organisation.

Acrobat Reader for Palm OS can be downloaded free of charge from http://www.adobe.co.uk/products/acrobat/readstep.html for Windows 98/NT/ME/2000 and Palm-powered devices with Palm OS 3.1 or higher. Initially the product is only available in English.
