IBM has revealed three software packages for its IBM WebSphere Portal in an attempt to cater for customers with varying requirements.

The first package is the WebSphere Portal Enable Solution, a package that is designed to provide the framework to allow enterprises to personalise their own portals.

The second is the WebSphere Portal Extend Solution which includes all of the capabilities of the first solution and integrates these with an integrated team room, instant messaging, extended search, community creation and web site analysis tools.

The third and final solution is called the WebSphere Portal Experience Solution which features all of the Extend capabilities plus advanced e-meeting, application sharing, enterprise content management and enhanced security features.

WebSphere Portal will be available worldwide in November.

Pricing has been set at USD55,000 per processor for the Enable Solution and USD95,000 per processor for Extend. The Experience Solution will only be available in a minimum four-processor bundle for USD580,000.
