IBM has introduced a new entry level server aimed at providing wireless manageability features and self healing technologies to users.

The IBM eServer p610 is a two way UNIX system which, according to the company, consumes almost 20% less electricity than the comparable server from Sun Microsystems. It is also available in rack-mounted or tower versions.

The p610 consolidates IBM's push to provide an offering for all segments of the server market following the release of the enterprise class p690 and the mid-range p660 servers.

No pricing information was released.
