The software combines content filtering and anti-virus technologies to enable a single scan to look for both malicious and unauthorised content. The system also uses Dynamic Document Review, Symantec's multi-lingual, context-sensitive content analysis technology.
Other features include an ability to manage Exchange servers simultaneously from a single location and outbreak management, which allows administrators to define outbreak rules to trigger alerts and actions during a virus outbreak or when there is a reasonable suspicion of an attack.
Symantec AntiVirus/Filtering for Microsoft Exchange 2000 is scheduled to become available at the end of this year. Pricing details were not disclosed.
