Worldwide Computer Products News-3 October 2001-Symantec introduces anti-virus/filtering software for Microsoft Exchange 2000 users (C)1995-2001 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

The California-based Internet security technology developer Symantec Corp has launched Symantec AntiVirus/Filtering for Microsoft Exchange 2000, its new integrated virus protection and content filtering system designed specifically for users of the Microsoft messaging and collaboration platform.

The software combines content filtering and anti-virus technologies to enable a single scan to look for both malicious and unauthorised content. The system also uses Dynamic Document Review, Symantec's multi-lingual, context-sensitive content analysis technology.

Other features include an ability to manage Exchange servers simultaneously from a single location and outbreak management, which allows administrators to define outbreak rules to trigger alerts and actions during a virus outbreak or when there is a reasonable suspicion of an attack.

Symantec AntiVirus/Filtering for Microsoft Exchange 2000 is scheduled to become available at the end of this year. Pricing details were not disclosed.
