Compaq Computer Corp has released the new Evo Workstation W4000, aimed at delivering affordable performance for small businesses and first-time customers.

The workstation features an Intel Pentium 4 processor with speeds of up to 2 GHz and an Intel 845 chipset with 400 MHz front side bus. Prices for the W4000 start at GBP799.

Two more workstations in the Evo range - the W8000 and W6000 - have been upgraded, both being available now with up to two Intel Xeon 2 GHz processors and the 860 chipset as standard.

Compaq has also unveiled three new monitors: the P920 and P1220 flat-screen Professional Series CRT monitors and the TFT7020 flat panel display. The 19-inch P920 is priced at GBP359 while the 22-inch P1220 is available for GBP649. Prices for the 17-inch TFT7020 monitor start at GBP589.
