US-based The MathWorks has launched Virtual Reality Toolbox v. 2.0, the latest version of its animation software that adds virtual reality visualisation and simulation capabilities to the company's flagship products MATLAB and Simulink.

The new version provides tools that enable users to create and run interactive 3D animations of the systems they are designing. It also includes a VRML-enabled browser that connects the toolbox to MATLAB and Simulink. This enables engineers to view and interact with simulated virtual worlds on remote computers running the two systems.

Virtual Reality Toolbox 2.0 for Windows is priced from GBP868 for a single-user PC licence.
