Worldwide Computer Products News-19 September 2001-NEC launches new LCD monitor (C)1995-2001 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

NEC Mitsubishi Electronics Display-UK Ltd has introduced a new 18.1-inch, high-end flat-screen monitor - the MultiSync LCD1850X.

The monitor weighs just 8.5kg with power supply and has a frame with only 18.5mm sides making it easy to fit several screens side by side and above one another for example in dealer rooms. Another feature is the LiquidView software utility which provides facilities for scaling icons so that pull-down menus, shortcuts and words can be displayed at a larger size and with high resolution on the Windows desktop or in Windows applications, at the same time avoiding a 'staircase effect' in the graphical display.

Other features include a viewing angle of 170deg horizontally and vertically with a contrast ratio of 10:1, light intensity of 240cd/m2 and an ability to optimise the monitor for different workstation picture formats using selectable functions such as 1:1 display, full display or scaling up with adjustable edge smoothing.

The MultiSync LCD1850X is available for GBP1,189 VAT.
