The California-based information storage systems provider Maxtor Corp has entered the enterprise network storage market with a storage server called MaxAttach NAS 6000.
Designed to provide an enterprise-ready storage platform, the new product offers support for Windows, Unix/Linux, Macintosh and NetWare clients to enable file sharing among users from all these environments. The server also provides features specially developed for data centre environments, such as redundant hardware components for high system availability and RAID 5 data protection for high data availability.

Other features include capacities from 1.9Tb to 5.7Tb, high density with a 1.9Tb version taking up just 4U rack space and hot-swappable drives, power supplies and cooling fans.
The MaxAttach NAS 6000 will be available in Europe in 1Q'2002, priced from USD29,999.
