Handheld developer Palm Inc has revealed a test version of its Palm OS 5 operating system and announced that a final release should be available in the summer.
The new OS is designed to run on a range of ARM processors and includes support for 802.11b wireless LAN access. An agreement has also been formed with RSA Security to bring 128-bit encryption to the device. An emulator for running Palm applications built for the old operating system will also be included.
