A partnership has been formed between e-business infrastructure management solutions provider NetIQ and Research In Motion Ltd (RIM), a mobile communications company.

Under the terms of the agreement both companies will work together to produce performance monitoring and diagnostic tools for RIM's BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

According to the companies, the first offering to be launched will be the NetIQ AppManager for BlackBerry Enterprise Server. The software will detect automatically a BlackBerry server, monitor the performance and analyse data flow between the messaging server and remote handheld device. AppManager for BlackBerry Enterprise Server is currently in the final stages of Beta testing.

AppManager pricing begins at USD2,400 per BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
