Linux technology and solutions company SuSE Linux has announced version 8.0 of its SuSE Linux operating system.

This latest version features increased security, a new desktop, faster installation and extended multimedia capabilities.

Two variants of the OS are available. The first is a personal edition that features three CDs, two manuals and 60 days of installation support. The second is called SuSE Linux 8.0 Professional and comes with seven CDs, one DVD, three manuals and 90 days of installation support.

SuSE Linux 8.0 will be available from mid-April 2002. The personal edition is priced at GBP39 while the professional version is available for GBP59.
