Chip maker Intel Corp has set a launch date for its Centrino mobile chip for use in notebook computers.
The upcoming processor will be available at speeds of up to 1.6GHz with a 1MB secondary cache and embedded 802.11b technology. A spokesperson for Intel said that the Centrino will be more power efficient than the company's Pentium processors and consume less energy.
The launch date will be 12 March 2003. Pricing will range from USD1,250 to USD3,000.
