Voice and data networking products provider 3Com Corp has revealed its new family of products that are compliant with the 802.11g wireless standard.
The high-speed, plug-and-play wireless devices are designed to enable a user to connect to a wireless hotspot and access the Internet through a handheld device.
The 802.11g wireless data standard can reportedly increase the data transfer rates by five times over existing 802.11b wireless products.

The product family consists of the OfficeConnect Wireless 11g Access Point and the OfficeConnect Wireless 11g Gateway, both of which will be available in July 2003 for USD135 and USD125 respectively. A third product - the OfficeConnect Wireless 11g PC Card will be available in June 2003 for USD79.
