Business communications solutions provider Aspect Communications has entered into a development, sales and marketing agreement with 3Com Corp, a voice and data networking solutions provider.
Both companies will now deliver an IP-based telephony solution for companies and contact centre communications. The offering is a combination of IP-private branch exchange and contact centre functionality such as call routing, multi-channel support and centralised workflow development, according to the companies.

Companies adopting the new solution can reduce their costs associated with using knowledge workers and remote staff in customer, vendor and partner interactions, claims a spokesperson.
The joint solution is expected to be made available before the end of the first quarter of 2004. To date, no pricing details have been revealed.
