Chip maker Intel Corp has launched an Intel Pentium 4 processor that supports Hyper-Threading Technology for portable notebook PCs.
The processor is intended for use in desktop replacement notebooks, portable laptops with desktop-like features such as large screens, full-sized keyboards and multiple drives. Intel Pentium processors with Hyper-Threading Technology are available at speeds of up to 3.2GHz.

Hyper-Threading Technology is designed to let the processor in a portable notebook PC work on two separate threads which reportedly improves performance when multiple applications are running.
Pricing starts at USD234 for a 2.66GHz processor and rises to USD653 for a 3.2GHz version.
