Worldwide Computer Products News-3 December 2004-Fairchild announces new video filter/drivers(C)1995-2004 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD http://www.m2.com

The US-based semiconductor manufacturer Fairchild Semiconductor (NYSE: FCS) has announced a new family of integrated video filter/drivers replacing as many as 80 parts to help designers lower design costs and reduce board space by up to 20% in video applications in the case of the FMS6146.

The new Fairchild FMS6143, FMS6145 and FMS6146 multi-channel devices feature fully integrated functionality, the company claims. Compared to passive approaches, the new video filter/drivers reportedly decrease test and design time, reduce inventory and increase image quality in DVD, LCD, TV, set-top box and other digital consumer products, as well as eliminate the need for multiple discrete components.

No pricing details have been disclosed.
